Speeed

Cookie Policy

This page explains which cookies Speeed uses, what each one does, and how you control them. It complements our Privacy Policy.

1. What cookies are

Cookies are small text files a website stores in your browser to remember information between pages — for example, that you already answered the cookie notice. They cannot run programs or read files from your device.

2. Essential

These store only your answer to the cookie notice and interface preferences such as the light/dark theme. They live in your own browser's local storage and are never sent to our servers. Without them the notice would reappear on every page.

3. Analytics — Google Analytics

These measure how many people use the service, which tools are most used and where traffic comes from. They are only enabled if you click "Accept". If you decline or ignore the notice, Google Analytics is never loaded. IP addresses are anonymised.

4. Advertising — Google AdSense

This site displays Google AdSense ads, which pay for the bandwidth the speed test consumes. Google and its partners may use cookies to serve ads based on your visits to this and other sites. You can opt out of personalised advertising at google.com/settings/ads or aboutads.info — ads still appear, they simply stop being personalised.

5. A note on the speed test itself

The measurement payloads used to compute download and upload speed are transient data transfers, not cookies. They are discarded as soon as the test ends and are never stored or linked to you.

6. Changing your choice

Click Cookies to reopen the notice and choose again. You can also delete or block cookies in your browser settings — blocking everything does not break the site: the speed test and network tools work without cookies.
